BASED ON THE TRUE STORY OF THE VIETNAM VET WAR HERO, KNOWN AS THE “AMERICAN GANGSTER” WHO RAN A COVERT CIA OPERATION AND EMERGED AS VIETNAM’S ‘OSKAR SCHINDLER’
A great historical fictional work on ‘Vietnam’s mobbed-up late 1960s – 1970s Saigon, Pearl of the Orient, Vietnam, “American Gangster – Operation Beaucoup Dinky Dau”
In the best-selling tradition of the world’s master historical fiction storytellers, Mario Puzo’s, “The Godfather”; Tim O’Brien’s “The Things They Carried”; Winston Groom’s Forrest Gump; Victor Hugo’s, “Les Misérables”; Leo Tolstoy’s “War and Peace”; Norman Mailer’s, The Naked and The Dead; Gore Vidal’s Lincoln: A Novel; and Graham Greene’s “The Quiet American”
Steve Murphy, Network TV and Documentary Film Producer, Writer, and Combat Vietnam Veteran, tells the extraordinary story of a never before told, top secret covert CIA operation, known only as “OPERATION BEAUCOUP DINKY DAU”, that served as the unofficial covert Logistics operation to the CIA’s Phoenix Montagnard fighters, fighting the North Vietnamese forces during 1968-1973.
“This I-can’t-believe-it’s-not-fiction” tale has it all: a Marlboro- Man handsome Vietnam War Hero, a parade of impossibly gorgeous women, sex, spies, copious quantities of booze, drugs, and enough violence to take Arnold Schwarzenegger and his Terminator scriptwriters through several more sequels. It’s both a rip-roaring expose and harrowing.
It’s the story of the underbelly of the Saigon metropolis like few others. Corrupt Generals, shady Politicians, gangsters, prostitutes, bootleggers, opium addicts, jazz musicians, deserters, black marketeers, and your run of the mill criminals, murderers, thieves, and con artists….
Casting light on the Federal Government’s links with organized crime and how a highly decorated American MAT Team Advisor Vietnam Veteran, Johnnie Walker, known in Saigon, as “The America Gangster”, became Saigon’s most successful Criminal Mastermind, as well as the most influential “unofficial” Defense Attaché Office (DAO) “Contractor” to the CIA’s Phoenix Program, and the owner of the famous supper club and casino, “Beaucoup Dinky Dau”, and who had unparalleled connections leading all the way up to Vietnam’s Presidential palace and the CIA.
It’s a story most Americans have never heard of and shines a new and disturbing light on the role of the United States in the creation of communist Vietnam, and their treatment of the indigenous tribes that fought for the CIA’s Phoenix Program.
Johnnie Walker dominated Saigon’s War profiteering, Black Market, Money Laundering, and Drug Trafficking for all the major Vietnamese Crime Lords Generals in Saigon, as well as for South Vietnam’s President Nguyễn Văn Thiệu, and Air Marshall /South Vietnam’s VP, Nguyễn Cao Kỳ.
His astounding metamorphosis from criminal mastermind to Vietnam’s ‘Oskar Schindler’ began in 1968 when he discovers that Washington intends to abandon his friends and former MAT Team CIA Phoenix program Montagnards, “The Yards”, fighters that he’d fought side by side with as a MAT Team Advisor in Pleiku. He loved “The Yards” and the War Orphans the Yards took care of, and he was going to make sure he did the “Right Thing” for them.
It was an amazing turnabout for the once money-hungry Walker, because even though he did not begin his journey as a hero, by the time the war was winding down, he became one. He used his cunning to bend the system to help him and his over 600 Yards and 100 Orphans escape Vietnam. He was strong in the face of constant danger and double-cross, and he placed the well-being of The Yards and Orphans above his own well-being.
Based on real historical events, the suspense and intrigue of the story carries larger-than-life qualities and heightened reality. It’s about 90% historical basis and 10% creative license, but it adds up to 100% spellbinding story. It has more political intrigues, more suspense, more intense psychological analysis, and more technological know-how than anything Tom Clancy or Robert Ludlum could fantasize about.
And it has something else besides: It’s based on a true story, depicts the courage and shrewdness of an unlikely savior, a man who is a flawed mixture of hedonism and decency and who, in the presence of unutterable evil, transcends the limits of his own humanity, and the pragmatic triumph of good over evil, a triumph in eminently measurable, statistical, unsubtle terms.
Set in his adopted hometown, Saigon, Vietnam, where he spent over six years, American Gangster – Operation Beaucoup Dinky Dau, is the book that Steve Murphy has been building up to for his whole career. From its opening fusillade to its astonishing conclusion, it’s that rarest of literary creations: a book that combines spectacular elegance of craft with a kinetic wallop as fierce as the Monsoons and Tsunamis bringing torrential rains to the Pearl of the Orient.
They were here before us.
They are here now.
They will be here when we are gone.
The Autobiography of Jimmy Lee.
Jimmy Lee has led some sort of life!
He had a start in life few would have survived; he was taken into care at three years old and by the time he was eleven he had moved home ten times and attended nine different schools.
His early adolescence was hard by any standards. At fourteen, he ran away to join the Royal Navy and was sent, along with 2000 other boys, to the notorious HMS Ganges at Shotley, in Suffolk, a training establishment where a harsh regime held sway.
He had the misfortune to be placed under the care of two particularly brutal instructors, prone to drunkenness, whose continual bullying and abuse proved too much for his emerging free spirit.
Jim fought back and deserted on numerous occasions. Among his many punishments, he suffered ‘cuts’, a particularly brutal form of naval punishment. The next six years passed with regular naval detentions in the Royal Naval Detention Quarters, Portsmouth, involving exhausting routines and solitary confinements, which ended with a twelve month sentence in the infamous HM Military Prison Corradina, Malta, after which he was dismissed from the Service and returned to civilian life.
Then his troubles really began!
Winner of 20 book awards, SHOT DOWN is set within the framework of World War II in Europe and recounts the dramatic experiences of each member of a ten man B-17 bomber crew after their plane, piloted by the author’s father, was knocked out of the sky by German fighters over the French/Belgium border on February 8,1944.
Some men died. Some were captured and became prisoners of war. Some men evaded capture and were missing in action for months before making it back to England. Their individual stories and those of the courageous Belgian people who risked their lives to help them are all different and are all remarkable.
Even before the dramatic battle in the air and the subsequent harrowing events on the ground, the story is informative, insightful, and captivating. Prior to the fateful event, the book covers the crew’s training, their journey to England, what life was like on base as well as in London and the English countryside, and the perils of flying combat missions over occupied Europe and Germany.
Through personal letters, oral and written accounts, declassified military documents, and interviews – all from people who took part in the events that happened over 70 years ago (even the German Luftwaffe pilot who shot down the Susan Ruth) – the stories come alive. Adding to the feeling of “being there”, are more than 200 time period photographs interspersed throughout the book.
To add background and context, many historical facts and anecdotes about and surrounding World War II are entwined throughout the book so that the reader has a feel for and understanding of what was occurring on a broader scale. SHOT DOWN is an account about brave individuals, featuring pilot Howard Snyder, set within the compelling events of the greatest conflict in world history.

Think and Act Out of The Box by Manuel Manero
Success in life is an option. This book is a “manual” of behaviours, attitudes and procedures that you must develop if you want to have a successful life.
All that you are going to “drink” serves a single purpose: to live a more gratifying life with whom you love. And for that to happen, you have to transform yourself into that person, that leader, that idol that everyone admires and will want to follow.
Aware that much more is needed than reading a simple work to live a “great” life, I want with these pages to light the flame of “belief” that each of us has inside, so that the process of transformation occurs Of course, and that all “growing pains” be accepted as part of our “program” for a life of accomplishment.

Tells of love at the turn of the 1800’s.Isabella falls in love with a common gardener when her family move from The Peak District to Kent.

Written for readers age twelve and above, this coming-of-age story conveys life in medieval Europe, with bedbugs next to silver chalices, food ranging from the moldy to the sublime, and intellectual sophistication side by side with rank superstitions. Original poetry by King Enzio, imprisoned in Bologna, and writings about falconry by Emperor Frederick II of Hohenstaufen are incorporated into the novel. The eight parts of the novel reflect the eight octagonal towers of the Castel del Monte, a critical turning point in the protagonist’s life.

Bones – the Mystery of Plympton Cottage written by award winning investigative reporter Nic Outterside is a true story of ghostly riddles, the paranormal, unsolved mysteries, skeletal discoveries and unexplained incidents.
Set within just 18 months of the author’s life, the book has been painstakingly researched and written over a period of a further five years. It features the expert opinions and testimonies of more than a dozen eye-witnesses, university professors, academic researchers, spiritual advisors and paranormal experts.
Nic explains: “Until 2013 I did not believe in any so-called hereafter nor did I believe in ghosts or spirits.
“I had been an investigative newspaper journalist for more than 28 years and by the very nature of my work had to deal in hard proven facts.
“But all that changed when my family and I moved into Plympton Cottage at the foot of Tarporley Road in Whitchurch in June 2013.
“Even two weeks before we actually moved our furniture and belongings into the house, weird and unexplained things began to happen.
“Then from the moment my wife broke her leg in a hidden hole in the garden less than 20 minutes after the removal van arrived right up to the Christmas of that year, each day was potted with what I can only describe as paranormal activity.”
But a eureka moment was yet to come…
“By chance on Monday 13th January 2014 I discovered that seven unidentified skeletons had been found buried in the grounds of our home,” says Nic.
“The unexplained occurrences in the cottage did not cease, but now we began an investigation as to when the bodies were buried and what became of the skeletons, because no-one seemed to know.
“My book documents not only the 18 months we lived in Plympton Cottage but also the investigation which followed.
“The whole experience changed my way of thinking and believing entirely. Now I know there is something paranormal in our world which we do not yet understand and which I cannot begin to explain,” he adds.
Bones – the Mystery of Plympton Cottage is now available as a large format paperback from Amazon

Most books on the mob tell a sanitized story of guys who relished their time as mobsters. As Nicholas Pileggi, author of “Wiseguys,” put it, “most mob books are the egomaniacal ravings of an illiterate hood masquerading as a benevolent godfather.”

First written while living in India (as a motion picture script) interacting with beggar children, then subsequently a church musical, R.W. Nelson has now penned No Dark Clouds as a Christian, historical fiction novel.
No Dark Clouds. An Epic Biblical Fiction – An Educational Biblical Study
If you were living in Biblical Israel as a youth or teenager at the time of Christ, No Dark Clouds brings forth the raw emotions of what a personal encounter with Jesus might have been like. If you were a slave, Roman soldier, Pharisee, even Barabbas or King Herod; R.W. Nelson, presents the reader a possible glimpse of their lives during the Passion Week, trial, and crucifixion. If you were in Jerusalem on Resurrection Sunday, this fictional novel enriches the life-changing effects of that day in the lives of Pilate, his wife Claudia, the Disciples, Cleopas, even the High Priest Caiaphas. No Dark Clouds brings forth a perspective of the Greatest Story ever told, that (hopefully) will motivate the reader to enhance their own personal encounters and life-changing effects of a Risen Lord.
The historical series, fiction, novel of 5. volumes 6×9 inch for the young generation and everyone who likes a lot of fun, adventurous, intrigues etc. It’s from the 17. century when the glory of the Three Musketeers was still alive.

He is determined to vanquish this enemy to regain his lost honor.
Gaius discovers an ancient city carved from solid rock half-buried by shifting sands. When Rashid, who claims to be a Berber salt merchant, arrives just after two more legionnaires disappear, Gaius questions him and learns the name of the ancient city – Hamad Rus, home of the Kashites who once lived East of Eden. Their long-time enemies, the Inyosh, the undead Children of Lilith, had driven the Kashites west into Northern Africa millennia earlier. Casting a spell to destroy the Inyosh, the Kashites had instead changed them into formless wraiths that killed to obtain blood for their god, Nergal. Now, the Inyosh have awakened, and Rome is at risk.
“Chris Harris understands not only what it takes to achieve expert power, but also how to connect others to their experiential power through the challenges they overcome. Best of all, Chris understands that true expert power must be built on the foundation of character, integrity, and trust. I Go Thru is a must read if you want to take your life to the next level.”
—Tom Ziglar, CEO of Ziglar Inc.
What’s Your Expert Power?
Some people believe that the easiest journey is the one with the fewest obstacles along the way. However, it’s the adversity that we experience throughout our lives that provides our greatest growth, development, and fulfillment. If we can muster the courage and persistence to “go thru” these obstacles while maintaining a positive mental attitude, we will find our unique expert power on the other side.

As a veteran of the 1993 Battle of Mogadishu in Somalia, Talmon Bonnett usually holds his PTSD at bay. When a wealthy couple hires him to spy on Rusty Wing, the man responsible for building the Mourning Island’s new resort, Talmon injects himself into Rusty’s inner circle. Lying about his intentions, Talmon gets to know Rusty’s troubled fiancée Claire, his sinister Cuban first mate Santos, and Marlene, Rusty’s alluring sister.
Talmon and Marlene begin a torrid affair; then someone is murdered, and Talmon learns that two Cuban mobster brothers are the money behind the resort. Talmon forces the couple to divulge the real reason they hired him. Everything is connected to the murder, Rusty’s circle, the mobster brothers, and Claire’s vanished father, who might know something vital.
Talmon’s lie threatens the life he envisions with Marlene. Violence erupts because of a dispute between the brothers, with Rusty’s circle as targets caught in the middle. Talmon desperately seeks Claire’s father, while the two brothers maintain their collision course.
The Mourning Islands is an electrifying story that fuses mystery, passion, and tragedy against the serene beauty of Florida’s coast.
A surreal science fiction novella with unique concepts. A ship crashlands on a faraway planet, but the natives are a million years ahead of Earth, so they ignore the humans. How does the four-man (two of each) crew attract attention, survive the strange environment and discover the real purpose of their secret mission payload? Possibly the first novella with a vegan main character, written by a long-time vegan and set on a vegan planet. Plenty of room for arguments among the mixed-diet crew though!
An American Story: My Family and Yours, is not only an American story, but a worldwide story—a story that shares the emotions, fears, experiences and challenges every family in the human race can relate to. It underlines the idea, that a human problem is a world problem because the world suffers from it in some way—sometimes visible and sometimes invisible.
Humanity shares the same emotions, hardships and successes because it lives in a human vacuum—a vacuum that loves, hates, forgives, suffers and dies. Families work together and families work against each other, but when faith and love conquer thought, they forgive each other and move on.
My family, is only a representation of your family, and collectively, we are a microcosm of the world family. This is why you can and will relate to this book. The author’s pain becomes your pain, and her joy makes your heart overflow. You will see faith, courage and inner peace lived because it identifies with your faith and courage. As you read, her family will be replaced by your own personal experiences with your family.

The Warramunga’s War is a sweeping narrative of the friendship that forms between a young Australian army officer, Jamie Munro, and an educated half-caste Warramunga aboriginal NCO, Jack ‘Jacko’ O’Brien, during the Syrian campaign against the Vichy French in World War II. Jacko rescues a wounded Jamie after which they are conscripted in Cairo by MI6. Here, Jamie and Jacko learn about the seamy side of war in counterespionage as they track down German spies. The principal fictional characters interact with actual historical figures and events throughout the story.
As the desert war escalates to the west of Cairo, the MI6 team confuses the enemy with misleading radio messages using German codes and using local entertainers as undercover agents. On one of his day leaves, Jacko meets a beautiful young Syrian-French girl and a strong romantic bond forms between the two during his time in Cairo.
Following the end of the desert war, Jamie and Jacko are assigned to wartime intelligence work in Southeast Asia. After the end of the Pacific war, they initiate the Darwin operations of the CIS, the Commonwealth Investigation Service. On the trail of two suspected wartime German agents, they discover the agents have formed a dangerous criminal gang with an individual they had known during their time in Cairo. The tracking skills of the Warramunga are needed to finally catch up with the murderous gang in Western Australia’s Kimberley region.

“Would you like to hear a story?”
The man couldn’t help himself. His captor was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. Her powerful eyes held his attention and made him forget that she had him confined in a basement; his hands and feet bound with duct tape. His heart raced as he meekly nodded his head ‘yes’ to the question.
After getting past the terror and discomfort, he reasoned that there was nothing to worry about. He would be missed. He had loved ones who would call the police. All he had to do was wait. Letting this woman tell him a story was as good a stall as any.
The mysterious woman weaved a tale of betrayed love and unwanted, unnatural experiments placed upon her. Of a loving wife, working on a top secret government program. Of a husband searching for love in all the wrong places. The prisoner couldn’t believe what he was being told. A descent into insanity, fueled by a jealous rage, ended with using the tools of science for torture and revenge.
With every blink of her lovely eyes, licking of her full lips, and heaving of her perfect breasts, the captor entertained a story most bizarre. Of a woman bent on teaching her cheating husband a lesson.
The prisoner wondered….”Am I next?”

I held no desire to include the lessons that were of commonplace knowledge or even overused by gurus in the self-help industry. Instead, I wanted to write about those teachings whose power surprised me and completely transformed how I approach situations. I needed to share the principles that changed how I view myself, and how I continue to attain visions in my own personal and professional life with people like you.
Now? I confidently believe there is no other book like this containing the steps and principles that have the power to completely shift your mindset, motivate you to take action and make the positive changes which will result in a better life for you if you allow it to. Too often, we limit ourselves with our mind and our energy cutting ourselves off at our roots before we fully have the chance to grow. This book dives into those strategies of positive thinking and positive self-talk that hold life-altering effects when we appeal to our good sides for a change. Whether it be in our day to day lives talking to people or solving problems, use this book to completely eradicate negative self-talk and replace it with positive self-talk.

I am of the Dakota blood, and I have been gifted since a child with the ability to attract the supernatural. Basically, the supernatural is everywhere and in everything. Some people like myself, recognize this daily, and other people have no interest in the supernatural because they have never experienced it in any degree. The more sensitive you are, the more you know.
This book is a compilation of some of the supernatural experiences I have had in my life. All the experiences happened to me and they are all true. I have not exaggerated or fabricated any of these stories. I have seen ghosts, met aliens, lived with hauntings, and had completely unexplainable experiences that I believe have all been a blessing from the Great Spirit. My hope is that this book will be of interest to all those who seek to be informed, entertained, and even enlightened for the understanding of the unexplainable that goes on in this world we live in.
The last chapter of this book is dedicated to James Dean, and all those who have ever known and loved him. I have been haunted by many people in my life, but the most powerful has always been James Dean. I have written this final chapter about him because there is information some may never have heard, and because I was told to do so. I was given information some years ago, that basically the world has never known. I explain in this chapter how and why I was given this information. There are people that will feel in their spirit that what I have written is true. But I really don’t give a damn who doesn’t believe me. Wa ste’

“Window In The Sky” is a collection of thoughts, feelings, hopes and dreams, put into words and drawings during the author’s teenage years and onward into his twenties.
This is a very personal insight into the mind of a shy and extremely private young man, sharing his thoughts on growing up gay in the 1970’s, love and heartbreak; coming to terms with his feelings in a world that seemed very much at odds with his own way of looking at life.
The author never intended for anyone else to read what he had written; in fact the contents of this book remained almost forgotten until, whilst sorting through a box of old belongings, several books filled with many of these poems, drawings and short stories were rediscovered.
Reading through his own words again, after so many years, the author wished that he could send a message back to his younger self, to let him know that life would get better and that the world he experienced in his youth would change beyond imagination.
The contents of this book have been left largely as originally written during the 1970’s, with the addition of a couple of more recent pieces and a forward, entitled “The Rainbow”.

They had figured out that in future years, they could be considered invaluable. They were used as collateral for loans that were worth in the hundreds of millions of dollars. The Lauragais lies in south-west France at the heart of Occitania. Today it is largely ignored by the millions who visit its neighbours each year – Toulouse and Carcassonne – but in times gone by it rarely escaped the attentions of the great and the good, or the ambitious and the avaricious.
This is a book with big characters – Simon de Montfort, the Black Prince, Thomas Jefferson and the Duke of Wellington among others – but most of all it tells the story of the people who have shaped this land, the living and the dead, families that have lived in the same house or village for hundreds of years. This is the story of their lives, their religion, their forgotten language and their environment.
On the autoroute, a journey through the Lauragais will take you three-quarters of an hour, but all you will see are tantalising glimpses of gorgeous countryside and distant signs of human habitation. In this book, the author takes you on a more leisurely trip through time in a land that is endearingly modest about its illustrious past.
‘If you want to discover the future all you have to do is wait, but if you want to rediscover the past you need perseverance, dedication, imagination, instinct, an obsession with detail and preferably a large dose of luck. I know plenty of people like that in the Lauragais.’

LOVE OUT OF REACH
A Wartime page-turner and a gentle love story.
She first heard him on an anti-Nazi radio address when she was nine years old. In the years that followed, Dietrich Bonhöffer, famed German theologian, became her teacher, friend, and finally, her fiancé.
Although 18 years younger than the illustrious Bonhöffer, Maria von Wedemeyer’s intelligence, youthful enthusiasm and caring heart drew her to him. But as World War II broke upon them, Bonhöffer was part of a small but courageous remnant of Christians in Germany who actively resisted the Nazi encroachment on both state and church. Torn between his pacifist sentiments and his profound hatred of Hitler’s unjust policies and atrocities against the Jews, Bonhöffer knew something bold had to be done, so working as a double agent, he participated in plotting of several assassination attempts against Hitler.
Bonhöffer’s writings have influenced generations of people struggling with the role of people of faith in a hostile culture. His Letters and Papers From Prison is one of the most broadly-read theological works of the Twentieth Century.
Based on real historical characters and events, Jack A. Saarela’s third novel reveals a lesser-known amorous side of Bonhöffer as he falls in love with Maria. He shows Maria to deserve more than the usual cursory mention of her as merely “Dietrich Bonhöffer’s fiancée.”
Their romance, carried out against the backdrop of war, imprisonment, and the constant threat of his execution, is driven by their dreams and hopes of life together. Love Out of Reach is both a wartime thriller and a tender story of the endurance of love in the face of insurmountable obstacles.

ZERO to ONE – Making Our Way Toward a Conscious Civilization
You might think this is going to be about computer code, the binary system of ones and zeros, and how technology is going to help manage our planetary civilization. In a sense you’d be right, but not in the way you might think.
In another sense, and perhaps quite literally, the internet is an interface into such a system that is driven by both emotion and logic, with the capability to engage people, places and things for various purposes.
There is another binary connection that, through the choice of ‘yes’ or ‘no,’ molds our reality on a moment to moment basis. It, too, is an emotion and logic driven system. The two are nearly inseparable and often in conflict.
We ask questions and ponder paths, imagining possibilities for creating a sustainable world. Current quantum theory indicates we have more capacity for becoming self-aware and managing our reality better; individually influencing a collective consciousness.

He meets Eike, an unlikely Buddhist shaman, or healer. He dabbles in meditation and Tantric sex, flirts with Helen, and makes some big mistakes.

Can an old-style detective story capture a modern audience?
It can if it is filled with characters that resonate, has a love story for the ages, settings that carry weight and is layered with issues that raise the story above the everyday.
It’s gritty, moving, probably confounding, but it resonates.
Women are missing. Missing would imply a willingness to leave.
Women are not missing: They were taken.
KIRKUS REVIEWS: “A winning origin story for one of modern fiction’s expertly drawn detectives.”
My dream then was to play baseball for the New York Yankees. I was on the Stuyvesant baseball team, but because of my working hours, my playing time was limited. My first dream to become a corporate president by the time I was 35 years of age was fulfilled.
Experience the ups and downs of a life well lived in Bill Morgenstein’s compelling new memoir, The Crazy Life of a Kid from Brooklyn.
While first reminiscing upon his childhood in Brooklyn during the depression, Morgenstein traces his life through times of war, peace, and everything in between.
At times extremely funny and heartbreaking, The Crazy Life of a Kid in Brooklyn details Morgenstein’s enlistment in the US Army, his days running a $55 million dollar company, his despair at losing it all to a scam, and much more.
His chance encounters with such historical figures as Sergeant York, Cordell Hull, Sid Gordon, Jomo Kenyatta, and Vince Camuto, Telly Savalas, The Girl From Ipenema, Hoagy Carmichael and many others provide amusing cultural touchstones that reveal a willingness to embrace everything life has to offer.
Through all the successful, disappointing, dangerous, educational, and enlightening experiences that have shaped his life, Morgenstein remains philosophical as he explores the roles of ethics, honesty, and unfailing determination in shaping the human experience.

Learning one would be stillborn didn’t lessen her desire.
It would take a miracle….so she prayed for one.
When an electrical entity arrives to take the place of her stillborn, some would reflect that prayers aren’t always
answered the way we’d expect them to be.”
Sue Dent’s novel Electric Angel is a high voltage read, amped up with believable characters struggling in a unique plot. You likely won’t read a novel like this one. Love at First Sight
You gazed into my eyes
And I knew you were interested
I looked at you as a young God
Just down from University.
I stood in my grey gymslip
And You illuminated me
I was eleven, you twenty three.
We started the affair.
One night in the dark
When you showed me
Slides of the Poldark,
We kissed and you fumbled
Under my skirts, making me….
Dad walked in, did he see.
Dad left, leaving Mum,
And you were free.
Mum said we had to get married
You didn’t agree
But you acquiesced just the same
What was it?
I suppose it was
Then my orgasm every night
And three children emerged
What was worse,
There was no verse
Only sex and nappies
And a rising consternation.
I tried to get learning,
My soul had a yearning,
For other than
The daily grind of a burning
Desire to be somewhere else.
Then the breakdown.
It was complete.
Breaking me down to a
Foetus, nothing more,
There was no distant shore
God only knows how,
But the children you see,
Were no longer with me,
With you instead.
Was this always in your head?
Forty years later I learned of grooming
And what had happened to me
But you see, maybe my mother
Was groomed too
You were clever enough
Appealing to her weaknesses
For intelligent men like you
But not the crafty, creative, bristling intellect of a paedophile
Who hid it from himself, hid it from her, hid it from your family
Hid it everywhere even the psychiatrist who blamed
