I hope you can take the time to hear my story it’s been pretty hard trying to get what I’m trying to achieve off the ground.
Throughout my traumatic pregnancy and child birth I have been working days and nights to come up with a way to provide support to new mums and dads out there as we all know “ it ain’t easy “.
I had many obstacles to overcome through out my journey and at times felt alone,scared and confused. I turned to many books to try and seek help. These books were helpful with regards to how breastfeeding, labour, sleeping and parenting should feel. But I felt completely different to everything they were saying.
I knew at that point I had two roads I could choose from, one was post natal depression and the other was to tell my story, so with that I decided to start writing day and night telling my journey “ raw “ I also decided to include many medical tips and helplines which I felt weren’t focused on as much as they should be in other books and also birthing classes.
Sure there are many helpful books out there but I wanted to create something raw, true and inspirational not only for the mums feeling scared and alone like me but for the dads too as my partner struggled severely to adjust to my pregnancy, child birth and becoming a new dad which resulted in him being diagnosed with post natal depression.
There is no right or wrong way to become a parent and no one should have to feel scared and alone (like we did) on top of everything else they are trying to adjust to (bills, work, pets, life and a new BABY).
I’m currently trying to organise motherhood workshops where I provide pampering for mums and mums to be at a great price, food and drinks included and they can also use this as a time to meet people, make friends or ask medical questions! Once this is up and running my goal is to run yoga events, cooking classes and other activities for our mums!
