This book is about a former New Orleans Police Officer who in 1979 at the age of 22 committed a crime while on the job. He was arrested, skipped bail, and became one of America’s longest running fugitives; for a period of 22 years.
Most of his “on the run” was spent living a nomadic life in various woods, forests, and inner cities. It details how he hunted consumed wild animals, how he dealt with the elements, and how he dealt with loneliness.
In 2001, now in his 40’s, he voluntarily “surrendered” to law enforcement because of what he describe as a revelation. Upon his due court date, the presiding judge gave him no time in prison, assessing that he essentially incarcerated himself.
Today, and for the last 17 years, he has dedicated his life to exposing rogue cops in the United States and abroad. He currently speaks to youths, churches, and would be police recruits about avoiding crime and corruption.
Profits from his book is donated to various women and children abuse agencies. A very inspirational story about forgiveness, and over coming incredible odds.
